Abdelghani Mehailia joined Yorkville University in January 2020 as a Professor in the Program of Business Administration (BBA). From 2017 to December 2019, he served as MBA Coordinator at the Canadian University of Dubai (CUD). He served as Associate Professor from 2009 to 2019 in the School of Business of CUD teaching both undergraduate and MBA courses. He also worked during for more than twenty years in the banking and finance industry as both a director and a consultant. He received a B.S. from Algiers University in 1981, and an M.S in Statistics from Iowa State University in 1984. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics specializing in Statistics and Operations Research from Iowa State University in 1988.
His research interests span both statistics and operations research. Much of his work has been in those two areas, mainly through the applications of data analysis, data mining, statistics, and performance evaluation. He has taught over a career of thirty five years numerous courses both at the undergraduate and graduate levels covering the fields of mathematics, statistics, and operations research. He holds a Six Sigma professional certification from Harrington Institute (USA) and delivered a number of corporate training courses in Six Sigma, banking, and finance over the years.
