The education sector globally was pushed into a dilemma of deciding to close for a while or going online and most of the institutions chose the latter since the duration of the pandemic continued to increase with second or third waves hitting in many countries in 2021. Remote learning thus became a substitute for in-person learning during the pandemic. It is, therefore, necessary to understand the effects of the closures globally during the pandemic and the amount of preparedness by the educational institutions to continue the educational process during this time. Through a study of secondary sources from 34 different countries for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021, this session gives a glimpse of a global call for understanding the solutions to have a sustained educational sector and that to avoid future disruption of classes.
