Hazim Rashed Al-Nijaidi B.Sc. M.Phil. Ph.D. MRAIC
Dr. Al-Nijaidi holds a PhD in Architectural Design from Oxford-Brookes University, UK (1985), and an MPhil, also from Oxford-Brookes, in collaboration with the Bartlett School of Architecture & Planning - University College London, UK (1982). His first degree was a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering from the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, Iraq (1977). Since 1985, he has taught Architecture, Interior Design and Design in Iraq (University of Technology - Chair of Graduate Studies), Jordan (Applied Science University – Chair of Architecture), Canada (Ontario College of Art & Design and Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced learning) and the UAE. He has prepared a textbook on Structuring the Design Process and translated a book on Design Methodology. He has supervised Master and Ph.D. theses and published many refereed papers. His professional architectural work focused on Briefing, Concept Design and Design Development. He is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Prior to joining Yorkville University as an Adjunct Professor, in 2021, he has taught at the Canadian University Dubai CUD for ten years and served as the Dean of the School of Architecture & Interior Design. At the CUD, extensive work was done on Accreditation, Curriculum Development and Frameworks for Teaching Delivery.
