Maskwacis Education Schools Commission (MESC)
Assistant Principal
Alberta
Rachel Weppler is an Indigenous educator in Maskwacis, Alberta. Having grown up on a reservation, she has a deep appreciation of Indigenous culture and ways of learning. As a recent gradute of the Masters of Educational Leadership program through CityUniversity of Seattle in Canada, she is eager to share her research findings on culturally responsive education and leadership practices. She hopes that in doing so it will help other educators be able to understand some of the barriers Indigenous students face when trying to be connected and engaged in an educational setting.
