Truman Spring

I am Dr. Truman Spring an Associate Director of the Masters of Leadership in Education Program at City University in Canada.
I just recently left School District #22 (Vernon, BC) where I was the Director of Instruction, Student Support Services. Prior to this I was in School District #57 (Prince George, BC) as the District Principal of Student Services for the latter part of a decade. I have also worked in School District #43 (Coquitlam) starting in the classroom and finishing at the district level.
At the post-secondary level, I have been a field supervisor for the Counselling Department at the University of British Columbia, an Instructor in both the Education Department at Simon Fraser University and at Langara College, and I am also a clinical counselor supervisor.
In the non-profit arena, I have been on the Board of Directors for the British Columbia Administrators in Special Education (BC CASE), the Canadian representative for the Canada-USA committee for the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), President of the Laurel Foundation, and I am presently the Co-Treasurer of Canadian Eyesight Global.
A strong field of interest for me is anxiety and depression as it manifests its self in school age children. Besides looking into the potential of emotional support dogs I also been using hypnotherapy as a means to help students feel more comfortable with themselves and in a variety of settings.
